About Poonam Chittoo

I am an experienced Secondary School Educator, currently posted at the Royal College Port-Louis, specialising in Food & Nutrition and Food Studies, with a strong passion for helping learners develop both their academic knowledge and practical food skills. I teach students at O Level and A Level, supporting them with both theory and practical preparation. My lessons are structured, interactive and adapted to each learner’s level, learning pace and specific needs. I offer both online and in-person tuition, depending on the learner's needs and location. My aim is not simply to help students memorise content, but to help them understand concepts, apply their knowledge, develop confidence and achieve their academic goals. My Teaching Approach I believe that every learner has a different learning style and pace. I therefore adapt my lessons according to the learner's individual needs. For theory, I use clear explanations, examples, diagrams, structured notes, questioning and examination-style activities to make difficult concepts easier to understand. Whether you need help with a particular topic, regular weekly tuition, examination preparation or practical cookery, I can tailor lessons to your individual goals.
